Salted Caramel Smoothie

Salted Caramel Smoothie

There's something so great about a quick and easy breakfast. I'll be honest breakfast has always been a struggle for me. I usually don't know what to make, and the easier it is the better in my book. That's why I love smoothies so much!
I also love anything and all things salted caramel. Years ago the salted caramel frap from Starbucks was my GO TO. Especially this time of year. But, as I learned more about food and choosing healthier options for my body, I wanted Starbucks less and less. Enter this smoothie. It really does feel more like dessert than breakfast and I'm here for it. It's so simple and easy to make! Not to mention its so yummy!
.
This makes enough smoothie to fill my quart sized mason jar and if I'm not wanting that much, I'll share with the kiddos. You can easily reduce the amount if you need to!

Salted Caramel Chunk Smoothie

  • 1- 1 1/2 cups whole milk (I use raw milk, but if you want this dairy free I recommend using Mylk or Three Trees brands or even better...making it yourself!)
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (soaking them makes them easier to digest)
  • 1/4 cup cacao nibs
  • 3 Tbsp peanut butter (any nut butter works here just make sure to avoid ones with seed oils)
  • 2 cups sliced frozen bananas or 1-2 large bananas
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup (you can also use molasses)
  • 5 dates (pits removed)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ice (increase to 2 cups if not using frozen banana)
  • 1/2 tsp pink himalayan salt (you can use regular sea salt too)
Directions:
  1. Throw all the ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until completely smooth. Enjoy!

Let me know if you make it and how you like it!
