Today we got to sleep in a little, yay! But of course, there is no such thing as sleeping in with twins. We left Tucson at about 9:45am and it was a pretty short drive. It was only about 4 ½ hours. We stopped to take a break once we crossed the New Mexico border.
We couldn't find anything to eat and finally found an Arby's. While my husband and father-in-law got the food, I stayed in the car with the boys and the dogs. I was changing Liam's diaper, when he all of a sudden shot poop all over the place (and by all over the place I mean himself and all down the front of me). Not only did he have explosive poop, but he peed all over himself, me and the car. Great. Here I am in the middle of nowhere, squished in between two carseats with poop and pee all down me. Lovely. Once we cleaned up Liam and myself, we switched driving and I drove the rest of the way.
We got to the hotel around 4:00pm. It was raining pretty good, then all of a sudden it rained hail! Hail was falling out of the sky like crazy and I was afraid it would dent the car! There was a river of icy hail in the parking lot and Wes had to let me out under the hotel's covered entrance with the boys and dogs. It was CRAZY!
After we got everything out of the cars, I hosed my poopy self off and we went to a Mexican restaurant (inside the hotel) for dinner. Apparently we were VIP guests of the day for some unknown reason. We're delivered free chips and salsa AND free breakfast for tomorrow! Don't know how, but I'm not complaining.
After dinner it was relax and sleepy time!
