I can't believe my baby girl is already 11 months old. In just a few short weeks she'll have been earth side for a WHOLE year. How is that even possible? Since her birthday is fast approaching, (cue all the ugly tears) I've been thinking a lot about her first year. It feels like just yesterday that I was waiting around on Halloween for her arrival. The squishy newborn snuggles seem to have passed in a blink of an eye. One day I woke up and she was already walking.
It's so bitter sweet for me, and I'm not sure if it's because she's my last baby, or if it's because I'm getting older. I can't help but feel a little sad. It's a strange feeling really, because I'm so excited for the future, but miss those exciting first few weeks. I feel SO incredibly blessed to be able to watch her grow.
She's learned SO much in the last month it's crazy! She's started walking, climbing more, getting into ALL the cabinets, and has such a personality. She's also in the stranger danger phase (sorry mom haha) but she's obsessed with her dada.
eat
This girl can EAT. She loves all kinds of foods, more than her brothers ever did at her age. We still nurse on demand (which I'm super proud of) and don't see us stopping any time soon. Her favorite foods right now are bread, mac n cheese, and really anything sweet. She's definitely her fathers daughter on that one!
sleep
She still isn't sleeping through the night, but it has gotten a little better. She wakes a few times to nurse, but quickly slips back into a deep sleep. Over the last few weeks, she has been waking up screaming randomly, so I'm not sure if she's having night terrors or what, but I hope they pass quickly!
stats
We haven't had her weighed recently but I'd guess she's at least 19 lbs by now. One of my favorite things about her is her chubby thighs and cheeks! She has five teeth, and working on more coming through (which could also be a reason she's not sleeping great).
I'm so excited for her birthday party, but also don't want it to come...(denial anyone?) I'm also SUPER excited for these first birthday pics we have scheduled. Until next time!
