6 Week Postpartum Update

6 Week Postpartum Update

I can't believe that the boys are already 6 weeks old! Time has definitely flown by. But, one thing that didn't seem to be changing was my healing process. At this point I thought I should be mostly, if not completely, healed. Since about 3 weeks after having the boys, I noticed that I was in a lot of pain. It got to the point where I dreaded going to the bathroom.

I knew my stitches were supposed to dissolve on their own by around 6 weeks, but I didn't think it should hurt so bad.

So, I decided to make an appointment with the OB just to make sure everything was healing ok. Because something just felt....off.

I am SO glad I did. Turns out I have what is called granulation tissue. It's about a centimeter in diameter and that's why I was in so much pain. The OB had to burn it, which hurt so bad! I could have cried. I squeezed the corpsman's hand so hard! After he put a lidocaine jelly on it and told me to come back in a week. I'm praying that it heals and takes care of itself by the time I go back for my follow up.

Other than that I found out the rash on my face is Ezcema, which I have on my hands but I've never had an outbreak on my face before. Now that I know what it is I can take care of it!
