My Man of Substance

My Man of Substance

*This post is in partnership with Tommy John. Everything I write is my own opinion.

With Father's Day fast approaching, I often catch myself thinking about the men in my life, and more specifically my amazing husband. Although this is his first Father's Day, he's already the most amazing father to our twin boys. He loves them so much and would do anything for them, including changing their diapers at 3 am while I get some shut eye....My hero!

I'm gonna take a moment here to brag on my husband so bear with me!

My husband does so much for our family and I'm seriously blessed to call him mine. Not only does he sacrifice for us, but for families across America. He puts his life on the line in order to secure the freedoms that we all hold dear. He gets up early, goes to work and comes home tired everyday. But, no matter what his day was like, he comes home with a smile and kisses on his baby boys. He makes sure to spend time with them and it just melts my heart when I see them play together. They absolutely adore him!

Late at night when the boys and my husband are fast asleep, I can't help but look over and smile. I get so emotional thinking about how lucky I am to call him mine, that sometimes it brings tears to my eyes. How did I get so lucky? I can't help myself and sometimes I sneak a picture or two. He would kill me if he knew I snuck pictures of him sleeping haha.

People say getting married young is stupid, having kids young is stupid. We should be partying, living it up right? Well this is my idea of living it up. I would never even dream of trading this life for anything else. This is the smartest decision I've ever made.

People may say I'm traditional, but honestly I see nothing wrong with that. We ask each other for permission before we do things, we kiss goodnight every night no matter what, we never go to bed angry and this is what works for us. We have respect for each other and we adore spending time together. We could spend everyday all day together and never get sick of each other. This to me, is the definition of soul mates.

Some people say that they don't need a man in their life, that they are independent. I see what they are saying, but I don't agree with it. My husband is my rock. He is the glue that keeps me together. I do need him. He does complete me. He is my other half. The better half at that. So while y'all are celebrating the father's in your life, really sit and think about the roles they have and how they've impacted you! I'm so lucky to have my man of substance.

So to show him how much I appreciate and love him I decided to make a surprise Father's Day gift for him (to be continued...haha) Let's just say it is something he can keep forever! I can't wait to give it to him and to show y'all how it comes out!

What does a man of substance mean to you? Well for the company Tommy John, it means promoting a man with integrity, family values and an all around great man. If you're looking for a great Father's Day gift for the man of substance in your life, what better than to get him something he'll use always while supporting a foundation at the same time!

This month, Tommy John will be donating 10% of all second skin boxer brief sales towards the Steve Weatherford World Champion Foundation. For those of you who aren't sure who Steve Weatherford is, he's an NFL legend. Just looking through Steve's favorite picks from Tommy John I immediately thought of my husband and how much he would love their products. Not only are they putting 10% towards a foundation when you purchase their items, but they also give you a 15% discount on your first order of men's underwear. This bargain babe is loving saving money!
