How to Make Stove Top Potpourri

Stove top potpourri is one of the easiest ways to bring the holiday spirit into your home. There's something so festive about cinnamon and orange wafting through the house. What I love about these, is that they're so easy to customize. You can throw your favorite scents into a pot of water and voilà, your very own potpourri.

These have become a tradition for us, and I especially love doing these on cloudy or rainy days. It's so cozy to light a candle, snuggle up in comfy clothes, and have yummy smells coming from the kitchen.

I tend to change up what I throw into mine each time, it's never the same. But here's the recipe for the one I did recently!

Ingredients

  • water
  • 1 bag of cranberries
  • 1 orange
  • 3-5 sticks of cinnamon
  • whole cloves
  • springs of fresh Douglas tree

Directions

  1. Fill a pot halfway with water.
  2. Cut the orange into 1/4 in slices.
  3. Dump the bag of cranberries, oranges, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and sprigs into the water.
  4. Turn heat on to a simmer.

TIP::Make sure to check your water level every so often to make sure you don't run out of water and burn your potpourri!

That's it! Super simple, and a way to bring that cozy holiday vibe into your home! I'd love to see pictures of your potpourri creations so don't forget to tag me on instagram so I can follow along!

Merry Christmas friends!
